The Parent Child Program will be starting a beading and sewing class on Thursdays

The Program will be collaborating with people with different beading and sewing skills in hopes to create regalia for the use of the Centre.

Come out and learn a new skill or assist us in learning new skills.

POW

Local dancers instructing all the different styles of pow wow, the symbolism of regalia and the seven teachings.

Everyone is Welcome and the program is Free!

Micheline Berard

Micheline Berard (Mimi) is a multi media artist who is excited for life, always inspired and forever looking for beauty. Her interests include painting, pottery, photography and more recently dancing, specifically pow wow. She dances "Fancy Shawl" and the "butterfly" dance. Micheline believes to always give back to the community, to inspire, never crush. She is actively involved with the youth in her community, volunteering her time with the Portage Friendship Centre and local schools. Micheline has recently started a new program called POW in associaton with the Portage Friendship Centre. The POW program not only allows her to push her dancing to new levels, it gives her the opportunity to express herself in many ways, all the while exploring her culture.
Life is good.
